Cold bad, warm good.

I dislike being cold.

I would much rather be warm than cold.

Yes, I hear you, you hordes of naysayers. You universally pipe up with "At least when you're cold, you can put on more layers, whereas when you're hot, you get to the point where you can no longer take off any more."

This completely misses the point of what I'm saying, and, in a strange way, underscores it. If you put on more layers, then you're no longer cold, right? Presumably you put on more layers *BECAUSE* you, too, don't like being cold, and would prefer to be warm. RIGHT?

So please stop telling me that I'm weird because I prefer to be warm. I am a mammal. You are welcome to be a reptile.

That is all.

I've had that conversation way too many times. I agree with you completely.

    You got that wrong.

Mammals being warm-blooded control our own body temperatures, and can deal with a wide range. Reptiles being cold-blooded need an external source of warmth and can't cope with the cold.

So chop that hole in the ice and go for a swim ;)
