Geotagging

There's been a bit of chatter recently about geotagging, and although I'm probably the one person that a number of folks figured would be the first to mention it, I'm still not entirely sure what's going on. However, today's xkcd made me wonder, what's there?

A climbing frame. I guessed that xkcd is geek enough to be following the recent flurry of 'you can zoom gmaps in further' posts, and sure enough, zooming to 21 shows the playground.

Darn, my Xp/Firefox 1.5 client just using the URL won't zoom in that far: the flag definitely stays atop the big green building. Sigh. Must find my way to learning maps api.

If anyone reminds me, I can check it out. Presuming my date interpretation is correct, we have a while until September, eh? I actually commute down this short stretch of Mass Av. on my way home from work some days. It's a pretty condensed little residential neighborhood.

Hey - anyone know if xkcd lives around there, or perhaps used to live around there? My romantic side is thinking he once kissed a girl there, 10 years ago or something.

That comic has become one of my favorites. Check out the chess game on the roller coaster. I think we should all get together and do that along with making pink bubbly fountains!
