Tell you what we're going to tell you

Yesterday the guv'mint sent us a letter to tell us that they're going to send us a letter. That is, they sent us a letter informing us that in 3 days we'll receive our "economic stimulus" check. I wonder how many millions of dollars it cost to send out the additional mailing. Surely it would have been sufficient to just send us the check and be done with it?

The government is so very efficient! I got my informative letter the day after I got my check.

The best communication is usually redundant, if teaching is any analogy.

With the amount of scam and misleading offers, especially credit cards sending blank checks and loan companies sending faux checks, I think this extra letter is warranted. It may even be cheaper than extra staffing at a call center.

I'm surprised you didn't direct deposit.
