Work of Art

In response to the Monday Mural:

Work of Art
July 7, 2008

In a few simple lines
you captured that sculpture
by which all other works of art
are measured,
from Lascaux to the Barchetta.

A graceful curve,
soft shadows,
a strong backbone.

That some may twist and profane
the most beautiful work
of the greatest Designer
does not make anything vulgar
but their own eyes.

Dr. Bacchus I thoroughly enjoyed reading your poem. 'Does not make anything vulgar but their own eyes' is the perfect ending. It brings full attention to how people can desecrate other's work. Nice job. Have a nice night.
